Edwin J. Ed Day
Family/Personal:
Born in 1951 to Jane and Ed Day in Brooklyn, NY.
Ed, and his wife of nearly 30 years, Jean, moved into their present home, a modest Cape in central New City, in 1983 and have been an active part of the community ever since.
Jean, at one time a banker, changed careers and has been a long time Teaching Assistant at Laurel Plains Elementary School in New City. A dedicated community member in her own right, she is a recipient of the PTA Lifetime Achievement Award and is the former President of the Little Tor Elementary School PTA.
Eldest son, Christopher, born in 1984, is a Clarkstown North HS (2003) alumni; SUNY Rockland Community College Honors Program Graduate (2005); and is a graduate of Yale University, Class of 2007. He has been active in leadership positions in activities such as Student Government, Phi Theta Kappa, Varsity Football, and Model Congress, along with a number of other honor societies and community based activities. He is a Captain in the United States Army, assigned as the Senior Logistics Officer for the 4-73 Cavalry Squadron, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He is an Airborne qualified Army Ranger who has previously served a combat tour of duty in Iraq and recently returned from a combat tour of duty in Farah province, Afghanistan, serving with distinction and receiving numerous citations that included the Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Army Achievement Medal. Chris is the father of the Day family's first grandchild, Christopher Edwin Day Jr., affectionately known as CJ.
Youngest son, Michael, born in 1987; is a graduate of Clarkstown North HS (2005); and earned his baccalaureate degree in business from Iona College. Mike also played Division 1 football for the Iona Gaels, and was starting TE for the 2007 MAAC Championship team. He too has been active in a number of activities including Varsity Football (Captain), President of the Support Our Troops Club, St. Johns Episcopal Church, and numerous community based and charitable endeavors. He was a member of the Dean's List at Iona's Hagen School of Business; Division One Scholar Athlete; and earned 2nd Team - All Conference for the 2007 Football season. Mike was accepted to the United States Army Special Forces School, also known as the Green Berets, and recently deployed to Fort Benning, Georgia for basic and formal advanced training.

- Serves on the Public Safety, Planning and Public Works, Economic Development Committees in the Rockland County Legislature and the Board of the Solid Waste Authority.
